The revenue for the year was £3,050,765, showing a surplus of £209,939. Hobart, July 13. The Governor opened Parliament. The Speech promised Bills to purchase estates for closer settlement, for railway and tramway construction, unimproved capital value tax, and an amended income tax. The Leader of the Opposition gave notice of a no-confidence motion in connection with the Minister's action regarding the .shipment of timber to England. The House has adjourned.
