The speech referred to the prosperous condition of the State and the need lor State control of the water supply to provide against drought seasons. Bills are promised for the codification of the land'laws, railways, including "the- linkins of the trunk 'lines, and rectification ofFthe inequality of parliamentary representation. Other Bills deal with mining, agricultural development, and the Bible referendum, recently taken as to State schools. Received July 13, at 8.55 a.m. Melbourne, July 13. In the State Parliament, the Leader of the Opposition gave notice of a noconfidence motion, and the House adjourned. Received July 13, at 9.30 a.m. Perth, July 13. The revenue for the year was £3,050,765, showing a surplus of £209,939. Hobart, July 13. The Governor opened Parliament. The Speech promised Bills to purchase estates for closer settlement, for railway and tramway construction, unimproved capital value tax, and an amended income tax. The Leader of the Opposition gave notice of a no-confidence motion in connection with the Minister's action regarding the .shipment of timber to England. The House has adjourned.
