A DUCAL ADVENTURE.

Duke of West-minster was hydroplaning at Cowes at a speed of 35 knots to-day, he turned sharply in a strong tide and the hydroplane capsized and sank. All the four occupants were rescued. ■ Received July 11, at 10.50 p.m. London, July 11. The Duke of Westminster was picked up by a launch which was some distance behind the hydroplane. Robins (representing the Motor Company) and two mechanics clung to the upturned; hydroplane, buf the Duke of Westminster was struggling under the weight of a big mackintosh, and drifted seaward for 50 yards. He sank once, but Robins, noticing his distress, swam out, and when he was just nearing the Duke the latter sank again, but was pulled to the surface. Both were taken aboard the launch. The Duke was unconscious, and it was only after artificial -respiration had been tried for some, time that he recovered, and returned to London, not much the worse for his thrilling narrow escape.
