OBSTRUCTING THE POLICE.

As a sequel to the disi urhanec in Princes street on Saturday lour men appeared bclorc the Police Court to-day, to answer the iollowing charges :—-John A\ilson, drunkenness, obscene lanu'Uaiie, and resisting the police; David Wilson, obstructing the police, nbseene htne,ua.!.i<\ assoult'int?; and resisting iln> police ; Charles Graham, obsiruetiny and assaulting the police: Walter Hae Spenee, drunk and disorderly, and incii liili; to civiut 1 an assault. The trouble started with the arrest of John Wilson on a charge of drunkenness, and when the police endeavored to ye I him into a cub his brother appeared on rhe speiic. and, it, is staged, assaulted (ouslable Sweeney. Something like 300 people took part, in the disturbance' that followed. The disturbance continued in the strectsfor about an hour and a-hall. and Subf uspector Pliair stated in C ourt that more men would yet- be called on to answer charges. AH the accused were remanded till Friday, bail beiny allowed each man in his own recognisance of €SO and two sureties of £'2o each. • Mr I-ianlon. who appeared for Graham, intimated that he would call at least 20 witnesses, and possibly 25.
