Wellington, ..July lilt is possible that regulations will bo made compelling a return of all nsn. caught and carried in the Dominion so as to enable reliable statistics to be prepared annually. —State Oyster Beds. — The State oyster beds' in the North last year returned a profit or £S7U. The proceeds of sales totalled £4776, and the cost of picking and selling £4205, but this included an item ot £135 for the erection of an oyster depot. The beds will have a rest this year. At Bluff, where the oyster industry is not a State concern, 3Z9,3b7 dozen oysters were exported, valued at £2901, and 263,825 dozen valued at j £790 were distributed throughout the Dominion.
