Very litili' business is passing in wheat, and transactions are mostly confined to chick wheat. Farmers holding wheat suitable for milling are not inclined to accept the prices current at present. Oats are vory (hill, and there is practically no demand. Prices have declined in sympathy with values at the- Bluff.

Ryegrass litis been enquired for during! he past feu; days, well defined Italian being in fair request. ' Cocksfoot is also enquired for, and the market for 131b* seed is firm at late quotations. The demand for potatoes is slackening oif somewhat, but prices are unchanged. ;

JUNCTION .YARDS. Messrs Bruce Christie and Co. report on their usual weekly . stock'-sale--field at the Junction Yards yesterday as follows: Cattle. —Stores are in fairl demand at late quotations. Four to 5-year-old bullocks, -in forward condition, are wanted, and are worth £5 10s to £6 10s, 3-year-old steers £5 to £5 ss, 2-year-old steers and heifers £3 os to £3 10s, 18-months-old steers and heifers £1 10s to £1 15s, yearlings 20s to 255, calves 10s to 15s, store cows £1 5s to £1 15s, bulls (potters) £2 to £2 10s. Dairy cows and heifers were again in good demand, 22 being offered. Best voting cows and heifers (just at profit) sold at- £S 2s Gd to £9 10s, one extragood Alderney heifer (just calved) sold at £l2, medium sorts of cows and heifers (just at profit) sold at £5 5s to £6, spring calvers sold at £4 15s to £5. Pigs.—32 were penned. Prices were about the same as last sale. Best weaners sold at 8s 6d to 10s 6d, me-dium-sized weaners 6s 6d to 7s, small weaners ss. Prime bacon pigs, from 1201b to 1601b, are in good demand, and we have a large number.

WAIAREKA YARDS. The Oamarn Auctioneers' Association report having held their weekly sale at the above yards yesterday, when they offered a medium entry of stock to a fair attendance of buyers. Sheep.—Boo were yarded, composed chiefly of store lambs and ewes, with an odd pen of light weight fat ewes and lambs. The demand, although not brisk, was good, and prices can be put down as being on a par with those ruling last week. Fat ewes made up to lis fid, light weights up to 10s 2d, fat lambs to 14s Id. fat and forward lambs lis lid to 12s, lambs in fair condition 10s od, 10s 9d, lls A store lambs (small) up to 7.s lOd, G and 8-tooth ewes up to 10s sd. A line of 100 4-tooth ewes were passed in at lGs 3d, and 100 2tooth ewes at 16s Gd. Fat Cattle.—Only one fat cow for T ward, which sold at £7 15s.
