(Per Press Association.'. Pahnerston North, June 21. > The annual meeting of the National Dairv Association was held in tlie lecture "hall. Mr A. M'Farlane (Pahiatua) presided. The annual report and bal-ance-sheet, which were adopted, showed a' satisfactory year's working. The report spoke favorably of the reports received from Home on New Zealand butter and cheese. It also referred to the necessity of strengthening the crates for shipment. The Chairman, in moving, the adoption of the report and balance-sheet, .said tliey were the best in the history of the Dominion. Mr Marx asked if anything had been done in the matter of insurance. The President said the output had been insured through the London house for the present year at lis 9d. Mr C. Pi. Beattie asked how the factories who were not members of the Association got on in their business at Home. The President assumed that they did if? through agents. Mr Beattie said that was the point lie wished to draw attention to. There was a danger of some factories withdrawing from the Association, and itwas desirable that factories should export through the Association.A vote of sympathy in his illness was accorded to Mr J. W. Foreman, expresident of the Association.

It was resolved: "That it he a recommendation to the National Dairy Association of New Zealand (Ltd.) that an effort be made to get a uniform size of export cheese cases for the North Island, and if possible for the Dominion, the standard case to have a 15-inch head and a 27-inch batten." It was also resolved: "That this meeting protest against an amendment of" the Companies Act, which will make the Accountants'" Society to have a close corporation inasmuch as no public company's accounts should be audited by anyone who is not a public accountant."
