FLOODS IN NELSON.
(Per Press Association.) Nelson, August 31. A serious flood is being experienced iit Motueka, where heavy rain caused the Motueka River to flood its banks todav. Hundreds of pounds worth of damage lias been done to the protective works at Wbakarewa. It is still raining heavily, ai'id tliere is a danger of the. river making another breach through what is known as the blind river channel, in which case a portion of the town will be seriously affected.
