HUT! RACES. By Telgraph. Wellington, July 12. Magnificent weather prevailed for the opening day of the Wellington Racing Club's winter meeting. The course was in fairly good order, and the attendance of the public was above the average. The double event iotalisator on the Wellington Steeplechase and Parliamentary Handicap paid a dividend of £7B 15s. The sum of £10,41-1 was put- through the machines for tho day compared with £8650 on the corresponding day last year. Following are the concluding results : Whiter Hurdles. —Pushful (10.4), 1; Tu--I>ara |9.8), 2 : Kohiuii (9.0), 5. Also started : Handsome Hose, Trumpery, Cavalry, Waiwera, Levant., Valium, .and Magnificent. Won by three-quarters of u length. Time, 4min 8 5-sth sec. Dividends, £8 5s and £2 17s.
