Steyn and De Wet refused to listen to Pastor Murray, who voluntarily undertook to visit De Wet and endeavor to persuade him to recall and disband the Boers invading Gape Colony. A commission in the Middlesex Regiment has been granted to Lance-Corporal Storer, of the Sixth New Zealand Contingent. Received September 16, at 9.41 a.m. ' Sydney, September 16. Eighteen New Zealand troops returned by .the Harlech Castle, and proceed to New Zealand by tie next steajn«r.
