Captain Edwin telegraphs to-day as follows: Wind—Gale from between east and south-east and south, with rain, at all places eastward of Tauranga, Taupo, Wanganui, Nelson, and Timaru, strong south-east to south-west winds elsewhere. Barometer—Fall everywhere and lowest on the east coast of the North Island. Sea—Heavy on eastern coast from East Cape to Nugget Point, moderate from thence northward, also on all western coasts. Tides—High on east coast south of east Cape, moderate everywhere else.
