(by telegraph. ) Chkistchurch, May 19. The Canterbury Trotting Clab's winter meeting began to-day in fine weather, with a very large attendance. The special interest was dne to the presence of the Australian horses, which won two races during the day. In [the Addington Trot Fritz caught the field in the firso mile, which he trotted in 2min 18isec, private watches making it even faster, and slowing down he accomplished the two miles' in 4min 501 sth sec.
