Hospital Trustees.

The monthly meeting of the Hospital Trustees was attended by Messrs Mainland (chairman), M'Douall, Fleming, and Headland. The minutes were read and confirmed. The Trustees of the Waimate Hospital asked for information, which was forwarded. Mr Finch was granted leave of absence for three months. The thanks of the Trustees were tendered to Mr Terence Rodgers for his gift of oaten chaff to the institution. It was decided to send the following letter to Mrs W. G. Filleul : I have the honor by direction of the Trustees of the Oamara Hospital to convey to yourself and other members of your family the sincere expression of their regret at the pro3pect of your leaving Oamaru. The trnstee3 tender to you their heartfelt thanks for your long continued kindness and attent'on to the suffering inmates of the institution, and they cannot allow the opportunity to pass without an expression of their high appreciation of the devotion of yourself and other members of yoor family to the promotion of the wellbeing and comfort of the afflicted therein. They also, along with myse':f, express the hope that in your new home yoa and yours will enjoy good health and happiness—happiness that will be enhanced by opportunities of doing good to others, such as you have nobly done through your long residence in Oamaru. A severe and unanimous censure was passed on the local Press for nonattendance of reporters at meetings. The report of the Visiting Committee was read and adopted. The following donations were received with thanks : Mrs Brooke-Smith, linen ; Mrs G. Jones, illustrated papers and flowers; Mrs Filleul, (lowers, etc. ; Ladies' C.E.S., flowers ; Eveline, sweetbreads ; Salvation Army, flowers. The medical ofiicer reported that during the month 11 patients had been admitted, 8 had been discharged, 3 had died, and there remained 12 in the institution. The meeting adjourned with a vote of thanks to the chair.
