by telegraph.) (from our own correspondent). Wellington, September 11. It will be remembered that when the Premier gave an indignant and absolute denial to the charges made against the Railway Commissioners and the Christchurch executive of the Railway Servants' Society, as to an alleged "black list" of officials in the railway service, Sir Robert Stout asked to have a Committee appointed to inquire into the subject, and declared his readiness to produce a copy of the list. It now seems probable that he will have his wish realised. Mr J. W. Kelly, speaking on the Railway Bill to-night, alluded to the subject, and emphatically contradicted the statements made by the senior member for Wellington. He added that it was his intention to move for a Committee to inquire into those charges. At this Sir Robert Stout said. "Hear, hear," and added "Why not send the matter to the Railways Committee ? " Mr Kelly retorted that he was so fully satisfied that Sir Robert Stout was wrong that he was willing to submit the question to any Committee that might be named. He had been informed by the Railway Commissioners that they were not aware of the existence of the " black list " of which Sir Robert claimed to have a copy, and they were ready to give evidence to that effect if called upon. Sir Robert Stout said he was pleased to hear it, and the subject then dropped.
