School Committee Meetings.
SOUTH SCHOOL. The usual monthly meeting of the South School whs held lust night, when there were present, Messrs Creagh (chair), Re id, Crook. Mackintosh, Pinel, Grenfell.JHamilton, and Singleton. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. Certain improvements and repairs suggested ill the headmaster's and visiting committee's reports were referred to the new visiting committee to carry out. A discussion took place on the circular from the Taradale School with reference to an annual change of inspectors, but no action was taken. On the motion of Mr Hamilton, seconded by Mr Mackintosh, the following resolution was carried: "That the Committee express their approval of fch way the school has been conducted durin the past year, as shown by the inspectors report." Messrs Crook and Mackintosh were appointed a visiting committee for tho month. Accounts amounting to Lo were passed for payment. MIDDLE SCHOOL. The Middle School Committee met last night, there bein<t present Messrs Cunningham (chair), M'ahan, Enislie, Gebbie, Irvine, James, Pocklington, Rev. A. 13. Todd, and Ilarwood. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. It was resolved to disagree with tho Taradale School's suggestion re inspection, the Committee being of opinion that three or four years was sufficiently often to change inspectors. The visiting committee recommended small repairs, and the lion, secretary was instructed to write to the Education Board with a view to getting same done. The Rev. A. 13. Todd and Mr Pocklington were appointed a visiting committeo for the month.
