St. Mary's Girls' High School.

The Convent High School for girls and the Kindergarten School broke up on Saturday, the prizes being distributed by his Lordship Bishop Moron, ill tlio presence of a large number of tho parents and friends of the scholars. Previous to the distribution, the children attending the Kindergarten gave a very pleasing quickstep entertainment, to music supplied by Miss Hanning. Six little girls also performed on three pianos, with marvellous accuracy, a duet " Robin Adair." The programme of entertainment supplied bv the young ladies attending the High School contained :—A French recitation of a dialogue, by Misses .1. Hood and Nellie Corcoran ; a full chorus by tho whole entitled "The moonbeams"; ft pianoforte duet, "Gipsy life," by six other little girls; vocal duet, " Lifo's dream," by Misses M'lvay and Crawford ; pianoforte solo, " Abd-el-Kader," on two pianos, by Misses Clelland and Falconer ; English recitation, "The bell of happiness," by Miss Nellie Martin ; vocal solo, "The better land," by Miss Crawford; piano solo, on three pianos, selections from "Norma," by three little girls; tho girls gave another chorus entitled "Sunbeams" and Miss Manning gave a pianoforte solo, "The wearing of tho green." The whole of the items were rendered in a very pleasing stylo, and were well appreciated. The prizes being distributed, Ilis Lordship, in dismissing the scholars for the Christmas holidays, said ho hopeci they would be happy and enjoy themselves. In referring to tho work done during the year, lie expressed his surprise at its excellence, and although he had 110 fault to find with any of them, he urged them to do still bettor when they came back again to school.
