The Secretary of the Hospital and Charitable Aid Board has received the following circular from the head of the department at Wellington. Secretaries of any institutions that come within the terms of the circular, or private individuals having a knowledga of the working of such, are requested to forward full particulars to him for conveyance to the proper quarter : Inspector's Office, Wellington, N.Z., 24th June, 1592, Si!:.—The Agent-General for New Zealand lias forward to the Government a letter from tiie Baroness Burdett-Contts stating that as she has been appointed President of the British Philanthropic Section of the Women's Auxiliary of the World's Columbian Exposition, to be held next year at Chicago, she is desirous of obtaining particulars of all philanthropic work initiated or carried on by women. The particular object of the Section is to obtain concise and well-written reports upon all philanthropic work upon which women are immediately concerned, or which owes its genesis or success to their co-operation. The Baroness asks to be supplied with information as to the various philanthropic organisations carried 011 by women in New Zealand, and will also be glad to receive advice as to what are the most practical and philanthropic efforts that have been or are being made by women. I shall be glad if you will kindly obtain the above information with reference to the organisations carried on by women in your district and forward it to me at your earliest convenience.
