The Bowling Tournament.
(BY TELEGRAPH.) Di'nedin, February 12. The bowling tournament, so far as Oainaru and Christchurch bowlers are concerned, was brought to a conclusion to-night. Owing to the small number of players from Canterbury the match Otago v. Canterbury was changed to North v. South, the two Oainaru Clubs joining the Canterbury players. The attendance at the match was very large, a considerable proportion being ladies. The game resulted in a win for the South by Hi points. One rink from each club on the winning side will now play for prizes in the match. The following arc the players and scores : SOUTH. Hunter (Dunedin) played in the North v. South, and was evidently tired, while Taylor (Milton), his opponent, had declined to play. Taylor (10) beat Hunter (12); W. Carswell (1(5) beat A. Frascr (14). Taylor and Carswell then met in the final, with the result that Carswell, Taieri (22), beat W. Taylor, Milton (12). Carswell. who was champion on the previous occasion, therefore takes first prize, a trophy value 10gs., Taylor a trophy (L 4 4s), and Frasor and Hunter take 3rd and 4th. The visitors were entertained at a smoke concert to-night when the prizes were presented.
