,e (BY TELEGJRArn.) :t Wellington, February 12. 11 A man named John Dalton is reported d as having been murdered at Eketahuna. is He is believed to bo a resident of the 't Lower Hutt. He was found at 8 o'clock *« this morning with his throat cut and with another wound on the left side of l , e his body. He was then alive. The cotig stable stitched up the wound, but the s deceased succumbed two hours later, e Inspector Thomson has wired to Detuc;t tive Herbert, at Pahiatua, to proceed to y investigate the case, which is surrounded n with suspicious circumstances, and lie e will leave himself for tho district to- '■ morrow. fc Mastektox, February 12. " The man Dalton, who was found murdered at Eketahuna, was a grass-seeder from Mangaruo valley. He caine in n yesterday with two mates, and was drinking. A quarrel took place at about mid;t night, and Dalton was found at about e eight o'clock with a wound several inches n in length in his throat and a stab in the s- back. The murderers have left the i- district. ==
