Customs Revenue.
(by telegraph.) Wellington October 1.
The Customs revenue for last month was L 136,811, against 155,031 in August .and L 128.787 in September of last: year. Auckland contributed L 32,027, Wellington L 29.267, Christchurch, L 20.470, Dunedin, L 28.739. The total is exclusive of L 920 for parcels post for the quarter. For the sis months the Customs revenue shows a surplus above the estimate of L 21,000. The beer duty for the month was L 4462. The receipts during the six months have fallen L 4892 below the estimate, but the best months have yet to come.
