(by telegraph.) Auckland, September 30. The South British Insurance Company's balance-sheet for the year ending August 31st shows a credit balance of L 30,566. Further losses in connection with the liquidation of the California business absorb L 5506 ; transferred to reserve fund, LIO,OOO ; transferred to investment fluctuation reserve, L 397 ; dividend at the rate of ten per cent, per annum, L 6462, leaving a balance to carry forward of LBI9O. The premium income is L 56,659 less than last year ; while the losses and expenses are L 112,358. The loss ratio for the year just ended is 62*80 per cent., and the expense ratio 22'92 per cent.
