WAITAKI COUNTY COUNCIL.

The following is the conclndine portion ' of oar report of yesterday's meeting of the County Council:— Mr Alex. Mr Borrie moved that tenders bo called for the work, which was seconded by Mr Hall. Mr Thomson moved aa an amendment that the Council take no action in the matter. This waa seconded by Mr Shaw and carried. It waa decided that the opinion of tbe Solicitor be procured in writing as to the legal position of the Council. "It*. B. Catrrs forwarded an account for work done at Woare-kuri. It waa decided that the account be paid, ■object to the engineer certifying aa to , the work done. On tbe motion of Mr Borrie, seconded by Mr M "Harrow, it was resolved that it be a recommendation to tbe engineer to eonfer with the members for the different ridiogt, with the via* of reducing the nomber of surfacemen.
