WESLEY CHURCH SUNDAY SCHOOL PICNIC.

The scholars belonging to this school bad their annual on'rfotir treat yesterday at Awamoa. About 3 o'cltck a namher of conveyance#, placed at the disposal of the teacher* by friends of the school, started from tbe cburcb with rather more than a fall complement of passengers. On teaching the grounds, no time was lost in commencing varioc» games, soch as cr cket, football, atd r nnders. These were followed by ncn i f all kinds later on in the day. A cool bretaa delightfully tempered the heat, and made it more agreeable for thaw taking part io the sports. Ia addition to the tci >lar», there were a gond many parents and friends on tbe ground, acme of whom seemed to renew their yoatb, as they joined in the several events. Tloder the shade of the bluegnros old and ycaog were twice regaled out of the store of provfsfone contributed by the generosity of friend*. Admirable arrangements bad been mid* by the superintendent Mr Bell and hie excellent staff cf teachers, so that the fete pasaed r£f without a bitcb. Af er tsa and jast before the first party drove homeward, thie* ringing cheers were given for Mr J. S. Holme* for the n«e of the graand*. _
