INHUMAN CONDUCT.

(by telegraph ) Chmstohuboh, June 8. At the inquest on the body of Edraond Robinson, an old man of 70, who was knocked down by a buggy near Rangiora on Saturday, the evidence showed that 0. W. Chinnery, T. Ohinnery, and George Bnckman, three young men who were driving in a buggy, placed the old man (who was insensible) on the side of the road, where a horseman oould have ridden over him, and then want on two miles to Raugiora to inform the. police. They took .the'horse out of the buggy, and one of them went to get hia hair out before taking auy steps to get relief to the sufferer. The night was very dark and wiudy, and a considerable time elapsed before they retained' to the spot with & constable, and drove the sufferer to a doctor. The medical evidenoe showed chat deceased died from long-standing congestion of the lungs, brought to a climax by the shock of the accident. The three young men, were severely oensured by the Coroner and the jury for their inhuman conduct in leaving the old man | as they had done.
