The following is the conclusion of our report of yesterday's sports : Mile Race—lst prize, L 5 5s ; 2nd, L2 2s ; 3rd, LI Is. Seven ran. Eight competed for this race, -which was very keenly contested, and resulted as follows : —Aimers, 1; Peattie, 2 ; Thomas, 3. Consolation Race—lst prize, LI 10s ; 2nd, LI; 3rd, 10s. In this, the last and final event, five entered, resulting as follows—Thomas, 1; Peattie, 2; and Smith, 3. The Society's cup for dancing, of a very pretty design in the form of a thistle, was won by James Murray, of Dunedin. The Cup for the greatest number of points in running was won by A. Dalgleish, of Awamoka and Papakaio. It is a very handsome trophy. The Society, with their characteristic generosity, awarded special prizes for a number of races at the finish, which were outside the programme, among them was the Caledonian Band race. The wind up afforded great satisfaction to contestants .of all sizes.
