RAPIER PARK on Friday and Satur1 ' day, and hopes are entertained that the club will stage its third successful meeting this season. # # * Two promising maiden Bay hurdlers m Kaiti and Tanagra are worth a look over prior to the Moteo Hack Hurdles. • # • Experience is hard to get away from m jumping events. Tiega at 10.8 m the Moteo will take all kinds of licking, more so as on the Greenmeadows track he has seldom tasted defeat. * • • ■• Since coming to Hastings, Alaric has improved considerably m his jumping and m the Petane to-morrow should show up. * * * Royal Elm has benefited by Wanganui and Hawera experience and may show the way home m the Petane. • » * Sylvan Dell missed at Wanganui costing a bundle to Bay folk, but some are looking for squaring of accounts m the Meanee Hack. #■ * # Taranto must be hard m the same event and he and Sylvan Dell should provide a battle royal. * * * The Napier Steeplechase has the appearance of furnishing the best contest of recent years. Rangi Sarto will go close m collecting the thick end. Ballyfarnon will prefer the big to the hack steeples, while on recent track form, he is a working proposition. * * * Should Beaumont make the trip, many will prefer him m the Ahuriri Hurdles to Novar and Home Made. * / « « Singleton has proved himself a weight-carrier and on that score will take some heading off m the Stewards. Merry Mint and Merry Damon may prove his most dangerous opponents. ♦ * • i Do not get blocked m the rush to be on King's Jest m the last, but should you bo so unfortunate, Malahat or . Delude may give slight consolation. | # # # "Paddy" Neagle has three young jumpers m Tameterangl, Merle, and Kaiti which should prove more than useful from now on. # • ♦ Mountain Heath has recovered sufficiently from his accident to resume work. The big fellow looks m great heart. •. • * Luke Wilson has seven m work, including Kick Off, which is to be raced m hurdle events. As yet, the big fel- . low lacks confidence m himself. • * * I Epistle has gone amiss it is on ; the cards the little mare will see the i matrons' paddock m the near future. i • , # • Auda has grown into a classy colt and it is anticipated he will, be a three-year-old of high standard. * * # Highwayman has been put aside for some time. His crook leg made a great recovery,' but a stiff neck caused the retirement. **. # ' . Perle de Leon looks like standing up to a preparation. The big fellow will race at Napier and Hastings, and then go on to contest the Winter Hurdles at Trentham. Owner Alf. Symes has made a wonderful recovery from his recent serious motor accident. • # * W- G- Stead's three-year-old Lord Quex — Bayonne colt is going on the right way.
