The two -year- old Arikiwai, winner; of the Novice Plate, is; a. stylish two-yeai--old, and though! still a bit big m condition he is m splendid order to stand his trip to, Australia. ■ ;■ # ■ ;■■ ,# ■... . # ■ ».. Cornstalk was under the whip a furlong from home m the Novice Plate. He 1 finished more gamely than usual, but had no chance of beating Arikiwai. * * * The two-year-old Miss Trillion was in the lead for half a mile, but she was not at all happy m the going. '# # # Ronaki jumped out quickly and when the straight was reached he was proclaimed a winner. He failed to retain his position, however, being decisively beaten into second place. v • • Shandre was ridden a patient race for five furlongs m the Moreton Hack Handicap. When asked for an effort he quickly reached the'front and went on to win pretty easily. A good sort of a hunter is The Babe, a half-brother to Nightraid. He.went a good race m the Dromore Steeples, arid may pay a dividend inthe'near future. , . ■ - ,-s * . *;. . ■ : Message Boy finished, on well m the Dromore Steeples. He is a good fencer and always has a jumper's chance, • » •' Vie\vpoint went out to contest the Mayfleld Handicap, but broke a bloodvessel during his preliminary and wa& withdrawn from the race: " * * ■■■.*'. Chick-wheat responded gamely to Emerson's call over the last two furlongs of ■ the , Mayfield Handicap and won nicely, , "* ■-••■'. Taboo went a pleasing race m the Mayfield Handicap, when he beat all but Chickwheat. # # • Dubious was on the premises all the way' m the Mayfield Handicap, but third money was his portion. * * • Fairy Tidings, who is partial to neavy going, stayed on well at the business end of the seven furlongs tussle and^won weU. # Radiac made a complete job of the bunch he met m the Dromore Steeplechase, and when he is saddled up at Trentham he will be worth following.
