TEACHER OF CHILDREN
IN the 'boundless field of endeavor, social welfare work is an everwidenlng expanse wherein there yet remains a multitude of commissions awaiting fulfilment. In the area of unhappy marriages , and forsaken families the brusque hand of a man is often unfitted for setting the delicate scales of human relationship, and there is the need of a gentler sympathy. Life itself is a confusion of contradictions, and the school-girl longings of- Miss Cybele Kirk to become a detective are widely removed from her present work as secretary of the Society for the Protection of Women and Children. < Hers is a charming, broad-minded outlook on life, despite her investiture as a Jay Pee and her membership of various social reform societies. The spirit* of youthfuljness continuously filters through her> conversation, m face of the trying nayure of her work and the surroundings of the people to whom she is emteavoring to extend the glad hand. / "She conveys the impression that for her life has few dull moments, and her radiation of cheerfulness probably accounts for; her success anal popularity. i In short, Miss Kirk is a very accomplished woman. > 4.
