NEW ZEAL ANDERS MAY COLLECT SYDNEY'S SPRING DOUBLE

"TRUTH'S" SPECIAL REVIEW OF EPSOM ANDMETROP.

(By Cable From "Truth's" Special Sydney Rep.) Saturday's form at EosehiU makes it probable that the spring doublewill be won by the New Z "1"t cerSn hoTlrwh^herteiormer win start m the Epsom, as he may be reserved fOT Eumo^f arfSrin droulation that Pilliewinkie *my not start m the Metropolitan but may > reseJvTfor Z MeVou™ Cup but it is likely that he will tackle the Metr "P^Xa^n/thref thathe won so convincingly on Saturday over eleven furlongs m record time and carrying three pounds more than his Metropolitan weight.

THE Maorilander has not yet run one bad race since coming across, and though the odds are greatly against horses succeeding with over 9st, Pilliewinkie may be one of the favorites if he starts. The Hawk's principal opponents m the Epsom will be Irish Prince, Baldwin, Boaster, Sir Alick, Honan and Red Gauntlet, all of which, except Sir Alick, are recent winners. Irish Prince won the Tramway Handicap on Saturday week from Baldwin, with Sir Alick fourth. If the latter had not struck trouble m the race he might have won. Boaster failed m the Tramway, but he was carrying 161 b more than his Epsom weight.

With only Bst 101 b aboard, he promises to be a hard nut to crack. Baldwin is a better horse now than when he ran second m the Tramway, and his win at Rosehill on Saturday was a good effort. Honan ran away with a ten-fur-longs race on Tatt's day, but hard tracks are playing the deuce with him, and it is not yet certain whether he will see the post, though if he does he promises to be one of the hardest to beat. The finish will probably be fought between Irish Prince, Boaster, and Sir Alick. THE METROPOLITAN. Pilliewinkie's win on Saturday notwithstanding, he's no certainty m the
