McTavish intended to be present at the Wellington meeting this week, but the former received a nasty fall at- Pakuranga and decided not to resume riding until the Taranaki meeting. The- black mare ran a good race m this event and finished close up to the placed horses after getting into a fair amount of trouble during the race.
