A bibulous old bird named Archibald McNaughton presented his familiar countenance In thc Magistrate's Court again this week. As he'd been thore six times before m as many months, the Magistrate hod no difficulty m recalling him. "I warned him that he'd po to tho island if ho camo up again, did I not?" asked Magistrate Page. Thc police replied that such was even so and that accused had made all sorts of excuses nnd promises at tho time, but the very next thing he did was to got so full of staggerjuice that he rolWl hikirously into the boat harbor. Fortunately for him spectators fished him out. Magistrate rage then consigned tho reveller to 12 months on that arid island where there isn't a beer about. Appalled at the awful prospect accused xtood dumbfounded m the dock, then roared: "They won't keep tne on tho island." He wns hustled away, but from the room nearby thc sound of his husky voice shouting "I'll swim ashore" came drifting m.
