W. Poesy, 11.1; George Richardson, 10.12. (J. Long challenges winner.) This was a popular and Interesting match, Poesy was trained to perfection, Richardson not so well as usual. Poesy fought thfs, his first professional light, on a well thought out system. He never gave away a chance,, his left leads were immediately followed with a right to head, and all the time he backmoved to avoid the return. Poesy has excellent footwork and a,, daisy right upper-cut. Richardson fought on defensive lines and played a waiting game. The first couple of rounds were quiet. Both'blocked well. Richardson was clever at times m this respect. The ginger was taken from Richardlion's blows by Poesy's footwork, his back-moving being good. During the third round, Georgo took delivery of a heavy right upper-cut, ho then hung on low. A right by Richardson fell short, but the noxt attempt landed solid. Poesy's right rips hurt at times. Richardson scored two beautiful lefts to face In the fourth, and two right swings, heavy loaded, went round Poesy's neck. A rough -up on the ropes m the fifth, when Richardson went down clinging to Poesy's knees, who appealed. During the sixth, Richardson scored to neck and face. Poesy scored another hard right upper-cut and two lefts to face. A right to George's jaw made him hang on. The two following rounds were full of fight and both men were out to win. Richardson missed with a right, then plovcrly ducked a vicious left hook.' George was fighting well, but so far had not scored one round to his credit.
