The Proctors of Oxford, at the instigation of. the higher authorities of the University, are paying particular attention .to local hotels, where cnck-fail-drinking is said to he increasing. Raids are being carried out from time to time by the proetqrs in accordance with tho new regulations, contained in the much-discussed Grev Book, and offenders are being warned. In cases where a. warning is disregarded fines ire being inflicted by the University inthoritic*.
