OIL TANK OVERFLOWS
INCIDENT ON HUNTINGDON
BUTTER UNLOADED.
Por Press Association,
AUCKLAND, January 10.
An oil tank on the steamer Huntingdon overflowed and some of the oil leaked into the Number 3 lower hold, containing a large quantity of butter, which was unloaded to avoid damage. Very little damage was done to the cargo, but oil penetrated the insulating covering of the hold. All affected insulation will be renewed before more cargo is stowed in that part of the steamer.
The hold affected contained butter loaded at Wellington.
