Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, January 10. Past champions competing included J. Kilgour (Carlton), tlio winner in 1911; N. Walker (Auckland), 1915, 1919, and 1923 champion: j C. R. Ingram (Wellington), title holder in 1917; B. Harraway (Dunedini, 1920; J. C. Rigby (Dunedin), 1922; and J. Best (Dunedin), 1925. Last year’s winner, W. Foster (Caledonian, Dunedin), is not competing. Mclntyre (Hamilton) had a sensational win over Maxwell Walker (Auckland) in Section K, scoring 21 to 7. Walker was almost eliminated in the fourth round. Fustier (Green Island) being 3 up with one head to go. Pastier foolishly throw a long head, and his first bowl wa6 five feet away. This proved to be the closest bowl he threw up. Walker drew four inside that and won by one. Best (Green Island), a former champion, found the going in Section G too hard to allow his machine-like delivery to lie brought into full play. He gave a poor display and was eliminated. Parson (Ponsonby) once again proved that he is a singles player of outstanding merit, and was undefeated in Section 1, winning all his games with ease. Bremner (West End), runner-up in 1924, loßt one of his lives to a youthful opponent, Fletcher (Takaka), in Section A. Fletcher was unbeaten. , Allatt (Melbourne) upheld the prestige of the visiting Victorians by being undefeated in Section B .
