The youthful Robert had answered the door, to find a smartly-dressed young man on the doorstep. “Is your sister In, my child?” inquired the visitor in lofty tones. “No,” answered the hoy. “May's just gone out.” “Ah.” sighed tho suitor. “T am like tho man who went to tho cage, but found the hird had flown. Yes, no?” Robert smiled an unholy smile. “No,” he said. “You'ro like the month of June, for when you come round. May always goes out!”
