The seven miles walking champion ship was held in fine weather, on a course which was in excellent order. Results:— Sunderland (Victoria) 1 Osborne (Victoria) 2 Wyatt (South Australia) ... 3 Time, 55min 6 3-ssec. Sunderland won by 140 yards; Wyatt was 20 yards behind Osborne. Morse (Victoria) finished second but was disqualified for “lifting” in the last lap. Victoria won the teams race, with South Australia second. Osborne and Wyatt were in the first five throughout. Cabot (New Zealand) did not start.
