OBITUARY
MR M. P. CAMERON Mr M. P. Cameron, who died on Monday, was very well-known in business circles in this city. In his younger days he was a partner for about twelve years in the firm of Cameron and Christie, ironmongers, on Lambton quay. After he retired from business he joined the Government as Customs expert. This position he held until the early part of the war, when he was lent to the defence Department, in which he did valuable work. Since his retirement, about five years ago, the late Mr Came Ton has been in indifterent health. He ha® always been wellknown in sports circles, and was instrumental in introducing the game Of Lacrosse into ’Wellington. He leaves a widow (a daughter of the late Sir John McKenzie, formerly Minister for Lands) three sons, and a daughter, Mrs Rolls. For many years Mr Cameron was resident in Khandallah where he won many friends through his genial personality.
