A WOMAN’S CLOTHES
Essex police are investigating the mystery of a complete outfit of a woman’s clothing found by a farm labourer in a field bordering the farm of Mr Arthur Smith, at Little Totham, a lonely district between Witham and Maldon. The clothing was near a hedge, some distance from a main r. ad, and was covered with brown paper, TnvE not wrapped up. It consisted of cotton frock with pink stripes, mauve hat, silk underclothing, silk stockings, brown shoes. The clothing appeared to be new. Clay soil on the shoes corresponded with the type of soil in the surrounding fields. A (pond near where the clothing was found was dragged without result.
