CRIES OF “MURDER”
FRACAS AT CHRISTCHURCH FINED FOrTaSSAULT. Pe** Press Association. CHRISTCHURCH, August 18. As the result of a fracas in ft house at St. Albans last evening, Thomas Poole, a powerfully built man, was to-day fined £lO for assault and £l for drunkenness. The evidence showed he had been drinking with Joseph Hurley, and that a quarrel arose through the accused going into the bedroom of the host’s wife. Poole was waving a knife, and the neighbours, becoming alarmed by cries of murder, called the police.
