DEPOSING A MAYOR
FIGHT IN MEXICAN TOWN ALDERMEN ALL IN GAOL. Reuter’s Telegram. MEXICO CITY, August 14. The Mayor, Senor Carlos Gamboa, iiiid the entire board of aldermen, numbering fourteen, of the town ol Tecuba, near here, have been imprisoned after a political battle was fought, in which one man was killed and another injured* The aldermen Wei*© divided into two factions. One demanded that Senor Gamboa be deposed, hut the Mayor refused to agree, and the insurgents went to his home to arrest lhm. A battle ensued, citizens joining in the fray. Attacks by armed hands of agrarians are reported in Atznian, Orizaba, a lid Vera Cm States. Federal troops, however, routed the bands before they were able to loot the towns.
