Dr. J. Stevenson was a passenger by the Maori from Lyttelton yesterday morning.

Mr T. IT. Ronayne, of Wellington, has been admitted as a barrister by His Honour Mr Justice Ostler, on the application of Mr J. F. B. Stevenson.

Mr Lionel Caselberg, whose death has been reported, was a son of the late Mr Alyer Caselberg, one of the earliest settlers in the Wairarapa. Air Caselberg, who was 57 years of age, was taken ill on Saturday and succumbed to pneumonia on Tuesday. He was educated at Wellington College, and in his younger days was a prominent athlete. Ho leaves a widow and four children, Dr. Alexander L. Caselberg, of Wakefield, a younger son. and two young daughters.

Air Allan Smith died at Newtown at the age of 71 years. The late Mr Smith landed in Now Zealand 44 years ago in the sailing ship Port Glasgow, after a voyage of four months. The deceased was a native of Alacduff, Banffshire, Scotland. In his younger days he served his time as a sailmaker at Garmouth-in-Sprey, and was also a baker at Macduff. The late Air Smith leaves a widow and a grown-up family of whom one son and a daughter are missionaries in Paraguay. Air John Killey conducted the funeral service at the residence, and Mr Stanley Harrison officiated at the graveside. The death took place at Island Bay of Mr Frank Shennan. The late Mr Shennan, who was fifty-five years of age, was the son of Mrs Shennan, of Queen street, an old Wellington resident, now cighty-six years of age, aud a brother of Alessrs Charles and Robert Shennan of this city. Air Shennan was .a well-known master tailor and was formerly in partnership with Air Alec. Watts, but for the last ten years or so he had been in business on his own account. As a young man Mr Shennan was a very keen yachtsman, and on different occasions was a member of the crew of the Red Jacket, the Alahina, and the Waitangi. He leaves a widow (formerly Mis 9 Ewing) and four sons.
