TOTI DAL MONTE

The next super musical attraction that Messrs J. and -N. Tait are sending to New Zealand is that delightful operatic artist, Toti Dal Monte, who has meteoric&Uy leapt into prominence in the world of song within the last five years, and therefore is now at the zenith of her power (which is not usually the case with all great artists visiting this country). Toti Dal Monte is unique. As a beginner at La Scala (in Milan) she achieved such a success as much by her beauty as by her powers that she was engaged for the opera season at Buenos Ayres, Monte Video, and Rio de Janeiro, where she swept the Latin audienoes off then feet. Then came the visit to Australia two years ago, where she co-starred with Melba in the most successful opera season ever known in the Commonwealth. “Dal Monte Nights” vied with, and even triumphed over Melba Nights,” and the pretty and youthful prima donna scored one of the mosttriumphant successes ever known. She became a furore, the rage, the woman of the hour. At the conclusion of that tour Toti Dal Monte fulfilled opera and ’concert engagements in America and England with never varying success. Now we are to hear her in concert. The New Zealand tour will commence at the Town Hall, Wellington, on July 24th
