PERSONAL AND GENERAL (From Our Own Correspondent.) MASTESRTON, June 10. Mrs Stewart and her son, Mr James Stewart, were tendered a farewell social by th© settlers of Konini, after 25 years rosidence, prior to their departure for Whangarei, and presented with n rug and handbag and leather suit case, respectively. The death occurred at Masterton last night* of Mrs C, N. Cole, of Wrigley street, at the ago of 33 years. Deceased was the daughter of Mr and Mrs A. E. Andrews, of Mount Albert, and formerly of Masterton. The death took place at Carterton yesterday of Mr Thomas Kemp, a resident for 47 years. Ho was born in Bedfordshire, England, and come to Carterton with liis wife and fnmily in 1879. He leaves two sons (Messrs John Kemp, Wellington, and George Kemp. Nelson* and two daughters (Mesdamoa M. Bond, Masterton, and A. Hnxton, Carterton). The ninth prize (<£2o) in the Big Three Art TTnton was won by a Masterton resident. The Wairarapa Hockey Association . are making arrangements to ploy Wellington at Carterton on June 19th.
