RAIN IN HAWKE’S BAY
PLAINS A VERDANT GREEN. Par Press Association HASTINGS, May 24. A warm week-end, after last week's copious rain, wiped away the last trace of the. effects of the drv season in Hawke’s Bay, and the hills and plains are now clothed with verdant green, assuring sufficient feed for the sheep for the rest of the winter. If the present worm sunshine and mild nights continue a few more days, the growth of grass will be sufficient also to see the cattle safely through the winter. The conditions here today aro more like spring than nffdwinter.
