At the Supreme Court to-day, Mr Justice Herdman sentenced Waremu Rnua for forgery and uttering at Taurnnga to twelve months’ hard labour, followed by two years’ reformative" detention. to commence at the expiration of a three months now being served. His Honour described the accused as a notorious thief. Cliarles Walsh, for false pretences at Rotorua, was sentenced to twelve months’ hard labour and two years* reformative detention. Charles Henry Whitehead, who esenned from the Wainune Prison, the judge said, was another new arrival who got here last year.
