SUBSTANTIAL DECREASE SCARLET FEVER. STILL PREVALENT. The following is the bulletin of infectious diseases for the week ending May 24tli, 1926. The previous week’s figures are given in parentheses. There is still a good deal of scarlet fever, especially in the Wellington district, although there ai*e not so many cases as there were last week:— Taranaki-Horowhenua, 7 (13). —Scarlet fever, 1 (2); diphtheria, 4 (7); tuberculosis, 1 (0); pneumonia, 1 (2); enteric fever, 0 (1) ; erysipelas, 0 (1). Wairarapa-East Cape, 11 (25). — Diphtheria, o ( ); enteric fever, 3 (7); tuberculosis, 2 (1); pneumonia, 1 (2); scarlet fever, 0 (5); erysipelas, 0 (3); pneumonic influenza, 0 (1). Centrai-Wellington, 18 (25). —Scarlet fever, 12 (18); diphtheria, 4 (3); tuberculosis, 1 (1); puerperal fever, I (1); erysipelas, 0 (2). Nclson-Marlborough, 1 (2). —Diphtheria, 1 (2). Total, 37 (16)1
