BUILDING ADVANCES
SETTLEMENT IN SIGHT CONFERENCE IN JUNE. Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, April 29. In reply to the Auckland builders’ complaint in regard to the non-receipt of State advances for buildings, a reassuring statement has been received from the Prime Minister. Mr Hughes, acting for the builders, says he cannot publish the statement. He says it is possible that a settlement will be completed in Wellington some time next month in a conference between Mr Coates and himself. Mr Coates’s prompt grasp of the position shows his far-reaching efficiency, and will sustain his reputation as “the man who gets things done.”
