EGYPTIAN ELECTIONS
ZAGHLUL SURE OF. MAJORITY INTENSE PUBLIC INTEREST. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. (Received April 29, 5.5 p.m.) CAIRO, April 29. The publio interest in the general elections, which are to he hekj next month, is growing more intense. The Chamber of Deputies comprises 21£ members of whom 57 already have been returned unopposed, including 43 supporters of Zaghlul Pasha’s party, which thus has got a good start. Three groups—the Zaghlulists, Liberal Constitutionalists, and Nationalists—aie fighting as a coalition against the Unionists and the Independents. Although Zaghlul is old and infirm it is considered practically certain that ho will secure a majority in the new Chamber, which is expected to meet on June sth.
