Everybody nowadays is on the lookout for cheap money, especially since the Government has raised the rate of interest on loans. One land and estate agent stated that nine out of every ten persons who are looking for homes to buy want one with a Government loan thereon at the old rate of interest, viz., per cent., but it is getting harder every day, as owners will not sell unless they are absolutely forced to, such as being tranferred away from Wellington, etc.; but it is very interesting to note that one of Wellington’s leading land and estate agents has quite a number of such homes still available, four of which' are advertised on the back page of to-day’s “New Zealand Times” by the Live Wire Agent, R.
