S'o popular has this little publication been amongst the fanning section of the community that three large editions have been insufficient to cope with the demand, for it. The fourth edition, which'has bgen carefully revised, and contains many new features, is now out, and we are in receipt of a copy. ■ ■An important feature of the booklet is a number of articles on the correct duel and lubrication for various types of engines, and - the care and treatment of ttse different sorts of equipment used in rural pursuits. These are expressed in an authoritativemanner, yet in such clear and simple language that anyone with but an elementary knowledge of mechanics will find no difficulty in following the practices recommended. Many hints and tips are “given on the running of crude oil, steam, and petrol engines, etc., while helpful suggestions are made on such a wide variety of subjects as harvesters, milking machines, lighting sets, care of

leather, spraying of trees, and so on. The whole is clearly printed, and amply illustrated, and forms a really valuable hook of reference to anybody interested in primary industries.
